Individual and Small Group Skill Sessions
Summer and Fall 2024
Individual lessons are conducted at The Rose Garden Arena in Norwich Connecticut. The sessions can take on many different forms. The player can request specific skill instruction, or they can go through an evaluation process prior to the session. This process will give me an understanding of the skills that need attention.
My approach is always positive, and I like to create a fun atmosphere with the full understanding that we have work to do. I enjoy an interactive ice session. The player is encouraged to ask questions and they will have to answer some questions along the way.
The sessions will focus on all aspects of skill development. I also add the element of how to properly scan the ice and how to play with “your eyes up”. This concept leads the player into focusing on “the play after the play”. In other words, getting the player ready to quickly and seamlessly make the next play.
The player is encouraged to try new ideas and concepts. The off season is for building new skills and the proper habits to fully incorporate the skills into their repertoire. The skills I focus on are: skating, puck handling, shooting, passing/receiving passes and bodychecking. These skills will be taught and practiced individually and moved into scenarios that replicate game situations.
